Announcing:
Donaldson Sanitary Gases & Liquid Process Filter Housings Hold 3-A Symbol

Donaldson Company, Inc is pleased to announce receipt of 3-A Symbol license renewal for 2010 from 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. for single-element PG-EG sanitary gases/steam and PF-EG sanitary liquid process filter housings. Donaldson is one of a select few filtration companies to be listed as a 2010 3-A Symbol holder on the 3-A SSI website. In February 2010, 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. announced the current 3-A Symbol licensed holders as new public information for regulatory sanitarians, processors, equipment fabricators, and other interested parties.

The Donaldson single-element PG-EG Process Filter Housings for sanitary gases and steam and the Donaldson PF-EG Process Filter Housings for sanitary liquids are both equipped with sanitary Tri-Clamp connections and have inner and outer surfaces electro polished to a Ra 32 finish. Both filter housings are designed to yield low differential pressures at high flow rates. A broad selection of filter elements is available to meet the compatibility and micron rating requirements of many processes.

In addition to the single-element process filter housings, the PF-EG multiple-element sanitary liquid housings are also available with the 3-A stamp.

Donaldson Sterile Air Filter Elements Lower Operating Costs

20% differential pressure reduction during dewetting after steaming results in lower operating costs.

Donaldson Company offers the Donaldson P-SRF Sterile Air Filter Elements with PTFE support material for sterile filtration of compressed air, process air, technical gases and vent applications. The P-SRF sterile wrapped depth filter element has a retention rate of ≥99.99998% related to ≤0.2 micron ensuring safe and sterile filtration of process gases.

The new P-SRF element with PTFE support material delivers a 20% reduction in differential pressure during dewetting after steaming compared to the current element with Nomex®* support material, which results in lower operating costs. The P-SRF provides low pressure drop, high dirt-holding capacity, great strength, and long service life to dramatically reduce your operating costs.

Donaldson P-SRF filter elements are available in 13 sizes with different connection options to meet virtually all purification requirements. The high-quality stainless steel construction ensures excellent mechanical stability, thermal resistance up to 392°F, and more than 100 sterilization cycles possible at specific conditions. All components meet FDA requirements for contact with food in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), title 21, are manufactured in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001, integrity tested at the plant, and have validated retention of bacteria and viruses, LRV > 7/cm2(Brevundimonas diminuta), and LRV > 9/cm 2(MS2 - Coliphagae).

Sanitary Filter Elements for Steam

The Ultrex P-GS element is suitable for use in filtering steam, gases and liquids. The element body is a weldless tube of sintered stainless steel between stainless steel end caps. Particle retention rates of 1, 5 and 25 micron are available, and P-GS elements can be regenerated many times. The high porosity level of the P-GS element gives it a high dirt-holding capacity and low pressure drop. P-GS filter elements have a broad operating temperature range of -4ºF to 410ºF.

Donaldson Company offers the Donaldson Steam Filter Elements (P-GS), a sintered stainless steel steam filter element used for filtration of process and culinary steam as well as gases and liquids. The P-GS 5 micron filter element exceeds 3-A guidelines for the production of culinary steam under Accepted Practice T609-04. Improved steam quality ensures longer service life of the filter elements being sterilized and increases the efficiency of the entire process.

Donaldson P-GS filter elements are available in 13 sizes, three micron ratings and different connection options that meet virtually all purification requirements in steam, gas, and liquid filtration. Manufactured with high-quality 316L stainless steel filter media construction with 304 stainless steel welded end caps, these filter elements ensure excellent material resistance to steam and aggressive gases.
